As a result of sustained growth, an exciting new opportunity now exists for an ambitious Accountant to grow their career within a thriving, fast-paced accountancy practice based in Petersfield in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

The successful candidate, will work with owner managed businesses from across the South of England, will share and understand our business ethos of putting clients first at all times. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar sized practice providing the full range of accountancy services including limited company accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, personal tax returns and payroll services.

Applications are particularly encouraged from individuals that hold full or part accreditation from ACA, ACCA or AAT coupled with a natural disposition towards solving problems, communicating effectively and an insatiable desire to remain curious.

Key Responsibilities

The preparation/review/submission of financial statements for limited companies, limited liability partnerships and partnerships in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
Preparation/review/submission of company tax returns.
Preparation of management accounts and budgets / financial forecasts.
The ability to identify any issues on client assignments and escalate.
Completion of all assignments within the allocated budget and on time.
Managing clients’ compliance deadlines.
Maintaining adequate knowledge to stay up to date to deliver these services.
Keeping up your CPD that is required for your own existing professional body.
Aid in the development of other team members and review trainee work in the future.
Liaising with clients to resolve their / our queries.

Skills & Experience

· Experienced qualified ACCA, ACA or AAT accountant

· Payroll experience

· Demonstrable understanding of accounting concepts gained from relevant work experience.

· Previous experience of SME cloud-based accounting packages, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent etc

· A proactive, motivated, enthusiastic and outgoing individual who wants to grow and learn

· Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrating a commercial and efficient approach in respect of the firm’s billing the client, budgets and service to the client and their need
Proven analytical skills.
